Kauai:
Bubbles Below Kauai Owned and operated by Ken and Linda Bail, Bubbles Below will take you on an underwater adventure that's just a little different than the usual dive charter. The 35 foot Kaimanu is Coast Guard certified to carry 18 passengers but Ken and Linda have built their business by taking smaller groups to the most interesting and unique scuba diving locations around Kauai, Niihau and Lehua Rock. For this reason, Ken and Linda continue to limit the number of divers to between 6 and 8 with divemasters who are very knowledgeable in marine life. They spend time discussing what is rare and endemic in Hawaiian waters. These marine biology/ecology tours are critter intensive. They also spend time explaining relationships that are found underwater, and then view them. Like the blind shrimp that dwells with the goby, there are numerous symbiotic relationships occurring here in Hawaii.
Maui:
For all kinds of Maui scuba diving. You can dive from Maui by boat, beach, night, or do scooter dives. Maui scuba diving photos are excellent from the Maui inshore reefs. The shallower reefs tend to produce more light. Most of these fantastic reefs are within ten minutes from Lahaina Town. The many dive stores will provide pick-up if needed from your hotel in the Lahaina area. Daily scuba tours leave from Lahaina, Maui for the Island of Lanai or Molokini Crater to experience their deeper reefs. Some of the bottom lava formations can only be seen here in Hawaii. The Maui inshore reefs will offer you the most spectacular views of different species of fish, eel and turtles and the best photography. The butterfly fish alone have twenty three different species, three of which are endemic to Hawaii. The beach entries and exits are easy to say the least. The inshore reefs are just several yards from the beach.
