More Than 2,000 Islands Await You
Micronesia consists of four large island groups: the Marianas archipelago, which includes Guam and Northern Marianas; The Caroline Islands, the states of Yap, Truk, Phonpei and Kosrae that make up the Federated States of Micronesia; the Republic of Palau; and the Marshall Islands. More than two thousand islands scattered over three million square miles of the Pacific, of which only 125 are inhabited, with a land area of less than 1,500 square miles, less than the half the size of Bali. The largest is Guam at 212 square miles. The highest is Agrihan, in the Northern Marianas, at almost 3,000 feet above sea level and Kwajalein atoll, in the Marshalls, is the world's largest atoll covering almost 1,000 square miles. The islands are a mix of "high" volcanic islands and "low" sand and coral atolls, with the majority being made up of tiny atolls of the latter type.
Guam is a true tropical paradise.
Americas gateway to the Western Pacific and Asia. The climate is gentle and warm year-round. Whether you are passing through to outer islands Guam is one to discover.
From Guam the door is open to Kosrae, Pohnpei, Saipan, Yap, Palau and Truk. This is where Micronesia begins.
